Tubs and Amazon. New nicknames for my kiddos at our peditrician’s office. Supposedly if my daughter keeps on the growth rate she’s on and granted that she hits puberty at a normal age (like her momma) she’ll end up being 5′ 9″ or 5’10″. What?!?! That’s a whole 3 and 4 inches taller than me and a mere one inch shorter than her daddy!
But, you know Cindy Crawford’s height is 5’10″ too… hmmm. Probably will make sure we steer clear of the model path. We have to thank the grandparents on both sides for the height.
Now on to tubs. He’s on that same growth spurt. For being such a peanut at birth this boy sure has made up for it. He was born 5 lbs 12 oz and after only 4 months is already up to 15 lbs 12 oz. He’s in the 75% for weight and height. But let me get to his cranium. This dirvish has one huge head! At 44.5 cm that’s in the %95 percentile. The doc said that once he’s MAWJ’s age we’ll be able to better guess at his proposed height but again if he keeps truckin’ at this rate he’ll be taller than both dad and big sis. Therefore this puts me as the runt in the family. And I thought 5′ 6″ was normal.
This post is mainly geared toward the family that reads; so sorry if I bored you with mundane family details!

It rained here in central TX too… and yes, I too got out my camera and tried a few water shots… I was accomponied by my daughter who was the constant questioner… Why did it rain? Well, what are clouds? Why are you taking pictures? Why are you silly? I captured her fleeting about in the reflection of one of the rain droplets.
I hope you ALL have a fabulous weekend. I’ll be off immersed in geology this weekend. Till then…

If your from Texas or if you’ve visited then you know about our state flower. About this time of year they’re all over fields, highway medians, and parks. The bluebonnet is a prime family picture event. Therefore when I planned this ‘naked baby in the basket’ shoot I knew I’d have to share and/or fight for prime bluebonnet area and lighting.
We lucked out however and only had to wait for about 20 minutes for two other professionals to finish. But, as soon as we finished 3 more showed up! So glad that I captured the few that I did! Wouldn’t want to duke it out over some weeds…

For real mom? Really? How many shots can you take???

Don’t mess with this Blue Steel.

It’s great to surround yourself with smiles. I’ve been on a mission for the past two weeks to do what feels good. I’ve hung out with family, immersed myself in my two loves (outside of my hubs and dirvishes), cooked and just relaxed. It’s the end of spring break here in TX but it really doesn’t mean much to us… since we both haven’t celebrated the ‘break’ for years. However we somehow caught the chill bug and have made it a point to DO NOTHING this weekend.
I am looking forward to editing photos, both family and client alike. As well as experiment with new cooking meals learned via Iron chefs, read emails, and catch up in Blogland!
I’ll actually be able to read a few instead of browsing headlines posted on my iGoogle homepage.
A very, very special thank you and hug to the people who went out of their way to comment, email, or call me during this high stress period. I actually don’t have the words for the depth of gratitude I feel. Thank you. Thank you.
March Smiles! I actually made a St. Pat’s Day card to send out to the fam and friends and because of my schedule didn’t get to send our kiss to our fellow irish!

Update:
I have lost a colleague, student, and brillant geology mind. She, along with her brother, were murdered last Saturday by her boyfriend.
I also have been still dealing with a sick dirvish and a loaded research schedule.
Please know that I miss you all and am sad that I have not been able to step into my virtual ‘de-stresser’.
I cannot wait to laugh at Andy’s antics, catch up on blueviolet’s latest give away, see all the gorgeous babies, and of course, OF COURSE, catch up with all the A-MAZING photography.
I need to deal with this life bump… but I’ll be back soon.

I do still have fuel for my fetish….

Wanted to thank you all for your well wishes and advice!
The little tyke is feeling better thanks to the humidifier and constant boogie sucking.
He actually seems to enjoy the suckage, because he smiles when I turn it on.
Now I dive into the laundry, dirty house, tasks to do before the week starts, and that fun stuff.
We did have a great weekend visting momma’s ol’ hometown and getting lots of love from Mimi and PapaRed.
Can’t wait to see what you were all up to!!!!

Our little cowpoke rockin’.
