I knew the title would get cha. Sorry, if my humor comes off as a bit crass for the usual. I’ve been up mostly all night and spent most of the day at a pediatrician’s office trying to figure out what’s wrong with the littlest dirvish.
He’s completely congested. They tested for RSV, it was negative. They checked his O2 level, it was good. Fever? Nope.

So, they gave him a breathing treatment, it didn’t help.

They did the saline drops and sucked, didn’t help either.

So they gave me an ultimatum. By 3 this afternoon if he’s not eating well and not sleeping admit him to the ER. Wait, WHAT?!?!?! I thought it was just boogers???

So they sent me home to take a HOT shower with him and go buy some special nose sucker mechanism that cost the same as a nice dinner!!!

By 3 o’clock Shae and I had done the shower thing twice with Trace and sucked out a good amount of clear snot. yum.

He ate and peed. Yea! No dehydration.

So you might be like me and wonder is it allergies? Something in the wind outside? Texas erratic weather? No he’s too young for allergies (per Doc), and No to the other two as well. *sigh*

I hate boogers. I never use the word hate because it has such strong connotations, but I HATE boogers.

Morning: He’s such a trooper. You’d never know he was suffering. He was all about lifting his legs and making his butt beep. (like any other man) Oh, and he’d laugh right after… typical.

Right after the breathing treatment. Can’t you tell he LOVED it?
Taken with the phone camera. Dontcha love those bags under my eyes? Sexy.

My arsenal of contraptions.

The little guy now, asleep, after all the drama and taking in the humidifier (in back) goodness.

So, basically this post is to inform all my lovelies that I will be MIA for a few days to focus on the dirvish and his boogies. I will look forward to seeing how your weekends were and catching up. Till then, hope your weekend’s snot too stressful!

This past weekend I realized that I needed to practice patience.
Patience for spring to come.
Patience with the fact that my newborn is now a 3 month old. (Did I really give birth just three months ago?)
Patience with our new family diet to show its results.
Patience with my need for perfection.
Patience with my four year old’s new found ‘back talk’.
Patience with the school semester to end.
Patience with my job search.

I spent waaay too many hours taking water droplet photos this weekend. Dammit if I just HAVE to get it right. Still have some work to do.

Happy three months tubby!

I couldn’t help myself! What’s NOT pictured is the evidence as to why my little photoshoot had to end suddenly.

The only colors around here…

My snack…fruit gets old after awhile.

Family: Updated Trace and Mawj videos on Shae’s blog. xoxo

What do I love about being the middle of three girls? Is the fact that I have two siblings to beat up on, take advice from, love on, and play with.
Growing up we were daddy’s three long haired boys… Sure, there might have been a sigh when we all three came out with innies instead of outies, but that didn’t stop dear ‘ol dad from makin’ us rougher then the local boys.
If I wrote all our memories down here it’d be a book.
So to keep your attention and to keep blogger from freaking out I’ll stick to the main idea of MamaKat’s writing prompt.

Write about something mean you did to your sibling.

Meggie had this boyfriend that loved to pull pranks… I mean horrible, embarassing pranks, like put mulch on your fan blades and other fun shit like that. (oh how I could go on for days…)

You see, Meg, I was actually trying to get Clayton back for this but it inadvertently effected you too…

You remember when you went through that period of time where you couldn’t figure out why your hair was always greasy? Well that was me… and some olive oil in your shampoo… I’m sorry but it just sucks to be an innocent associate to such a guy as Clayton.

Your hair did look shiny though.

R to L: Me, Sarah, Meg… Can’t you just FEEL the LOVE?

This is why I love Valentine’s Day… a great reason for too much red wine, a rare steak, early bedtimes, and some Mommy and Daddy boww chicka boww boww…
You see this WAS the plan, but things went a little awry and due to a pre-planned cancer run we were just a tad tired.
How was your weekend?
Do you have Monday as a holiday?
Go visit Sebrina Wilson at SunMamma over there in the top right hand corner. She has some beautiful art.

Our VDay card sent out to the fam.

Mawj showin’ off her love of her teddy’s; the stuffed kind not the silky kind.

Someone’s full of smiles after that sugar from big sis!

I took advantage of some advice I recieved from Sebrina at SunMamma as well as some do-it-yourself tricks and shot some lovely flowers this past weekend.

We did have an awesome Valentine’s day though… We spent it remembering loved ones we lost instead of getting trapped in the media puke frenzy of the holiday.
Shae and I BOTH completed a 5k (3.1 mi) run in which he ran for his late grandmother, Florence Jones and I ran for my late aunt Virginia Henderson plus all the women in my family that have survived the cancer.

Here’s a virtual kiss from us if you didn’t get lucky this past V-day!

XO

That’s right… we’ve made it four years with being ‘ok’ parents. I know we’ve lost our patience, disciplined in unapproving ways, spoiled waaay to much, but each day is a new lesson in our parenting lifestyle.

It’s the eldest dirvish’s birthday today!

Exactly four years ago on 2.10.05 at 9:40 am, I screamed and cried as I counted 10 baby toes.

And at 9:40am four years ago I felt my heart literally outside my body. It’s weird to see your heart divided in so many unselfish ways…

She walks around with it and has no idea… she squishes it and stomps it; but for now she mostly just makes it swell. I KNOW (Mom, Dad, Tehya, and Grandpa Dino) we will pay for our raising; but I am content in basking in the impromptu kisses, snorting at the innocent questions, and loving being needed all the time.

Happy Birthday MaryAnn! Slideshow is long…

May you continue to steal our hearts, remind us of our prayers, sing out of tune, whirl through the house, kiss us each night, and keep us young….

more pics to follow….
